The work was quickly proceeded with ; and on April 2...Gth, 1878, a memorial stone was laid by the Rector, in the presence of a number of ladies and gentlemen, including J. F. Watson, Esq. , R Fitch, Esq. , J. P. , and others. The stone bears the following inscription : "To the glory of God, and in memory of Bishop Hall, and of the enlargement and complete restoration of the Church of St. Bartholomew Heigham, this stone was laid on the i>Gth of April, A. D.
