The deputies refused to obey his orders, and consequently did CAMPAIGN IN MEXICO. 61 not meet; and Aguire fled to San Luis de Potosi, and quiet was restored to Coahuila.
Brif^adier General Gushing reported to General Wool on the 17th July, and was assigned to the command of the volunteers.
