What reading level is Captive Propagation for Recovery of Species Under Esa Hearing Before the Subco book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

Although captive-raised Whooping Cranes are now being released into the wild in Florida, the captive population is still being periodically supplemented from eggs collected in the wild (Derrickson 1987, Lewis 1990). Similarly, the breeding program for the Puerto Rican Parrot (Amazona vittata) has been underway for some 20 years, yet has never achieved full viability even though the captive population now exceeds 50 birds achieved largely through the infusion of wild-origin young. Despite the ef...forts of a succession of capable biologists and aviculturists, and the application of propagation and husbandry procedures successfully used with other closely-related species, reproduction in captivity has rarely exceeded six fledglings per year, and the population is still not self- sustaining. Basic causes of poor reproduction have not been surely identified. Although fertility of eggs has been a chronic problem (Brock and White 1992), the extent to which low fertility may trace to behavioral or genetic limitations remains uncertain.
