The explorations of Mr. A. P. Low, of the Geologi- cal Survey of Canada, have shown extensive developments of iron carbonates, and magnetite and hematite, associated with jasper, and with cherty carbonate of lime, along the east side of Hudson Bay, and in the valleys of the Eoksoak (called also Ungava) and Hamilton rivers.
