Gondolas line up in the river canals, heavy with passengers. A man pushing a cart of fruit tarts sings a folk song while a small cluster of childre...n dance after him. The smell of butter and spices mixes with the pungent odor of crowds.
But black clouds blanket the sky, even darker than when I glimpsed it earlier from the courtyard. There’s a dampness in the air, a cold, tense stillness that contrasts sharply with the colorful banners hanging from balconies and the festivities on the street. The smiling people in masquerade masks look threatening to me. As if everyone knows what I’m about to do, and where I’m headed.

Estoy completamente en shock. Wow, lo que me ha hecho sufrir este libro. Cuando empecé a leerlo, jamás esperé que me fuera a gustar tantísimo.Este libro lo tiene todo acción, amor, misterio, una ambientación espectacular y unos personajes de lo más inusuales, crueles y vengativos, que nos harán sufrir y pasar malos ratos, pero también disfrutar con la lectura. Ha sido muy muy adictivo y estoy deseando leer el siguiente, porque menudo plot twist el del final. Omg

adelina isn’t what u would call a likeable character but I’m rooting for her she’s very complex v antihero
tbh almost everyone is pretty morally grey some more charcoal than others and that’s what makes this so awesome and interesting CAUSE ITS LIKE WHAT GONNHAPPEN U KNO
