First and second semesters— {2) (Given in 1937-38) ♦ENGLISH 211-FARM CREDIT ADMINISTRATION CORRESPONDENCE The course will cover: effective use of English for business purposes; special types of letter problems including inquiry, collection, application, adjust- ment, form, and follow-up letters; business reports; inter-office memoranda; planning a letter; paragraphing for clearness and emphasis; effective open- ing and closing paragraphs; intelligent punctuation; salesmanship in letter- writing; systematic method of building a vocabulary; review of rules of grammar and sentence structure as they affect clear, forceful expression.
