Let them expose the short-sighted policy which has once and again misled and insnared so many of the constituted guardians of the rights and interests of the Free States, under the pretext of a patri- otic compromise of sectional differences, — by inducing them to concur in authorizing the annexation of Slave Territory and the multiplication of Slave States, and in thus preventing, for an indefinite period, the natural extinction of the national curse.
