That great war appealed to the strongest feeHngs of Mr. Curtis's Christian manhood, and his whole heart and soul were enlisted in vindication of our national government. In those days of 28 strife, he stood forth, bright and clear, as a Christian minister in word and deed, putting forth every effort in the service of his country.
