The next year is a long time to wait when your child needs a new winter coat or even wants just to go on a field trip with the rest of the class. Changing these things would allow us to use the offset program to its fullest potential. The Uniform Interstate Family Support Act, UIFSA, is certainly a step in the right direction, but already a few States have passed it without the direct income withholding provisions. This translates into additional delays in getting much needed support to families.
