What reading level is Cotton Spinning Its Development Principles And Practice book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

In other cases, holes are made in the soil with a stick or dibble, by men, and the seeds are deposited by women who follow them, whilst boys and girls come after with light hoes, and cover them up. The distance between the farrows is gene- rally about six feet from centre to centre, the space being left sufficiently wide to allow the labourers to pass between during the picking season. Large areas are thus rapidly planted in favourable weather ; when it is wet, the labour is much greater. Sowin...g finished, the efforts of the planter are directed to keeping his fields free from grass and weeds, which impoverish the soil, impede the growth of the plant, and diminish its product. Greaf care, and often labour, is required in the fields until the picking season, which commences in the latter part of July, and lasts until the frosts kill the plant, flower- ing and fruiting proceeding simultaneously until that occurs.
The picking season is the busy time on a cotton planta- tion. All hands are requisitioned, as the quality and clean- liness of the crop depends, to a large degree, upon its being quickly gathered after the bolls have opened.
