On Sundays these are full to overflow- ing; even in lovely weather few workmen are seen walking out with wife and children. The cabarets absorb them all. Let us hope that combination, the progress of instruction, freer intercourse with the outer world, will gradually lighten the lot of labor through- out the Jura and eastern France generally.
