Erastus Warner went to the far West in 1858. He built the first house where the city of Denver now stands. He was engaged in the freighting business before the railroad penetrated there. Afterwards he engaged in the lumber business in Omaha, and in 1874 entered into the same business in St. Louis, remaining there forty-one years, and retiring July 1, 1915.
