Since the latter, according to his pupil, did not pretend that his own report was exact, but adds, "so far as my memory goes," the result can only be regarded as a report of a report and thus sketchy and uncertain, though it is likely that we have a sort of synopsis of the work, and sufficient to afford a correct idea of its tenor and object.
