Three sides of the courtyard are filled by the dwellings of tbe priests and officials connected with the temple, the last side being occupied by the temple itself. In the latter is always to be found a figure of Buddha, generally flanked by tiny shrines looking like small cupboards, each with its small hanging lamp kept constantly burning.
