I. THE Senior Tutor, or such other member of the Faculty as the President shall appoint, shall have authority to locate the Students in the apartments of the College.
II. It shall be the duty of the locating officer, at the opening of each College year, to make a new assignment of the rooms among the whole body of the Students : in which assignment a preference shall be given to those who shall have signified their wish to room in College.
III. Whene...ver any College rooms are left unoccupied, the locating officer shall have authority to fill the vacancies, by call- ing in the necessary number from those who may be rooming out of College ; and if any rooms apportioned to the several Classes shall remain unoccupied, the rent of them shall be charged 2 10 LAWS OF YALE COLLEGE.
to the members of the several Classes rooming out, and not ex- empted by the Faculty from the operation of this rule, gtu- dents wishing to reside with their parents or other near relatives, and others, for special reasons satisfactory to the Faculty, may be exempted.
