This campaign was made against the hostile Indians on the Wabash Kiver and contributes an important chapter of Ihe war of 1812. This expedition, while apparently not imix)rtant in Hself, lies at the foundation of a mighty fact in our development, for the ''Battle of Tippecanoe" led the English to see that their Indian allies were not to be relied upon, and they therefore withdrew from the alliance and thus made it possible for the ITnited States to control the four great States of the Middle West.
