Senator Rowland was never married, and at the time of his death was living at the Rowland homestead, with two un- married sisters.
It was my good fortune to know Senator Rowland well. He was a faithful and conscientious public servant, and while he made no pretentions of being a leading member of the Senate, he was a valued member of the minority and had an important part and mission in the reform legislation of one thousand nine hundred and seven. We all loved him for his kindness of heart and sympathetic nature.
