To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

The information Dr.
Hall gives me on this parasite follows: "The botfly larvae are Cephenomyia.
Owing to the lack of comparative ma- terial no closer determination can be made at the present time. Hadwen in Montana Wild Life 15 the Journal of Parasitology, Vol. XIII, No. 1, September, 1926, gives some in- formation on the life history of Cephen- omyia trompe. This fly affects rein- deer in Alaska. The summary of his information is as follows: 1. C. trompe on the wing from June September.
2. It
...can make long flights.
3. It deposits its larvae in the nos- trils of the reindeer.
4. The larvae grow but little during the winter months. In the spring rapid growth takes place. The expulsion of the grubs from the nose is a very pain- ful process.
5. After the larvae have fallen to the ground they pupate rapidly. The pupal period lasts from 16 to 31 days or up to 56 days, depending upon external conditions.
As far as the particular species of Cenhenomyia which infests elk and deer is concerned, there appears to be no information on these points." The preventive measures recom- mended in Farmers' Bulletin No.
