Two more subdivisions must be noticed, — those of 1691 and 1712. The first, following four years after the Dongan patent, was under the supervision of Brevoort, Samuel Waldron, Adolph Meyer and Pieter van Oblinus, these men having been duly au- thorized by the freeholders at a mass meeting "to consider and devise such measures as shall be most proper for the benefit and best interests of the town and inhabitants thereof.
