LONELY valley, lying sweet and green 'Mid mountains proud to compass such a scene ;- The Yoke, Hill Bell, and High Street over all, A huge and massive, dark, impending wall, To check barbarian storms that issue forth From outer regions of the gloomy north ; And keep the valley aye serenely blest.
