He asked, "Whether their habitations and furniture were not more sordid than those of the savage Americans 1" ' " Whether a scheme for the wel- fare of this nation should not take in the whole inhabitants ?" and, " Whether it teas a vain attempt to project the flourishing of our Protestant gentry, exclusive of the bulk of the natives ?"t He proceeds to promote the reformation suggested in this preg- nant question by a series of Queries, intimating, with the utmost skill and address, every reason that proves the necessity and the safety, and the wisest mode of adopting his suggestion.
