That is no reason what- ever against a far more equitable distribution of the things of this world : but it is certainly good for afflu- ence to learn how little a man's life depends on the things that he possesses. One must speak cautiously and considerately, but it may safely be said that it is seldom right to lay the blame of our unhappiness either on our circumstances, or our health, or on the people we have to do with.
