What reading level is Percy Jackson And the Olympians: the Lightning Thief book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

Each morning I took Ancient Greek from Annabeth, and we talked about the gods and goddesses in the present tense, which was kind of weird. I discovered Annabeth was right about my dyslexia: Ancient Greek wasn't that hard for me to read. At least, no harder than English. After a couple of mornings, I could stumble through a few lines of Homer without too much headache.
The rest of the day, I'd rotate through outdoor activities, looking for something I was good at. Chiron tried to teach me archery
..., but we found out pretty quick I wasn't any good with a bow and arrow. He didn't complain, even when he had to desnag a stray arrow out of his tail. Foot racing? No good either. The wood-nymph instructors left me in the dust. They told me not to worry about it. They'd had centuries of practice running away from lovesick gods. But still, it was a little humiliating to be slower than a tree.
And wrestling? Forget it. Every time I got on the mat, Clarisse would pulverize me.
"There's more where that came from, punk," she'd mumble in my ear.

Star wars is way better then this horrific piece of trash. they need to do way better if they even want to make it in the big three.

I like the Argo II they build, and I wonder how big it is. And i wonder what it feel like when you get kiss by your girlfriend, today finally my girlfriend kiss me and it really warm. I hope Percy would feel good with Annebeth

This is way better than Harry Potter but that's just my opinion, there are better relationships and the characters are explored more, plus Percy Jackson got more sass than anyone. The book is funny and entertaining

This book will definitely want to make you read the rest of the series. You always just want to keep reading it. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the later books in the series. (Yeah, I'm looking at you, book 4 and 5.

honestly I read these books in middle school and I some what vaguely remember some of the books. Blood of olympus if I remember correctly was alright but I remember feeling sort of lowballed with the ending. Also I wished Rick would pick back up the series from Leo trying to find Calypso, i think that name is correct. My favorite book in the entire series was House of Hades. Damn that book was good.
