In addition to the resolutions passed at the general meeting, w-e beg to enclose a copy of an address to His Excellency the Governor, drawn up by the Committee appointed to carry these resolutions into effect, and which we (the Committee) had the honor of presenting to His Excellency, who was pleased to receive it most graciously, and in reply to assure us that the measure had his most cordial sanc- tion and concurrence, and that he should make an early communication oa the subject to the Earl Bathurst, His Majesty's Colonial Secretary, and recommend it to his Lordship's favorable consideration, Having premised these observations, it remains now to state in as brief a manner as possible our sentiments on some subordinate but important questions on which we would desire to conform to the spirit and principles of the Scottish Church, and to he guided by the judgment of the Presbytery and the General Assembly.
