SEC. XIV. Any principal or teacher appointed after the beginning of the second quarter of the scholastic year, shall not receive any increase of salary the next succeeding year, by reason of the annual increase of salaries provided for in the schedule of salaries; but the time of service in a position of substitute shall be reckoned the same as that of a regular appointment in determining salaries. SEC. XY. Teachers who have a leave of absence must notify the Superintendent of their intention to return, at least two weeks before the expiration of the time specified in their leave of absence, otherwise a position will not be held for them.
