O'Meara continued taking newspapers to Napoleon which the Governor had not seen first. 6 He did not defend the Governor sufficiently, in his conversations with Napoleon, about the affair of the bust. 7 All these petty quarrels irritated O'Meara, and he stopped giving his reports of Napoleon's conversations.
