The company of Captain Young buried their comrade, with military honors ; and in the procession, next to the remains, his own horse was led, with his boots fastened upon the saddle. At the burial the soldiers dismounted and stood in a circle around the grave, holding their horses behind them, while the last funeral rites were be- ing performed.
