Of the blessedness... of the Righteous, and punishment of the Wicked. After the resurrection from the dead, the right- 202 BLESSED STATE OF THE RIGHTEOUS eous shall inherit eternal life ; but sinners shall be condemned to eternal punishrnent.
That eternal life which the righteous shall re- ceive for their stedfastness in the faith, is the most blessed state of endless joy. This joy shall be real, solid, and perfect. It shall flow from two sources, from the state of our vmderstanding and our will. In our understanding there shall be the purest light of the knowledge of God.
