The apostle's remark, that sin entered into the world by one man, who was the father of the whole human race, was an obser\'ation which afforded proper in- struction for the Jews, who looked on themselves as a holy people, because they had the law of Moses, and were the children of Abraham, a holy father ; while they looked on other nations as by nature unholy and sinners, because they were not Abraham's children.
