The faculty contended that they had done everything to establish the college ex- cept to procure the charter. They had rented and furnished the rooms oc- cupied by the college at their own ex- pense, and had borne all the expenses of the college without asking the board for a dollar. Furthermore, they were the only parties known to the profession and were by the profession held responsible for the acts of the college. The action of the president of the board at the last com- mencement evinced a... determination on their part to consult no longer with the faculty before conferring honorary de- grees, and quickly brought the matter to a crisis.
A meeting of the faculty was held the Monday evening following the commence- ment. On this occasion they carefully reviewed the situation and reached the conclusion that they could not honorably continue to work with the Board of Cor- porators, and therefore decided to dis- band.
In anticipation of an effort to reorgan- ize the college, the following announce- ment was issued: Fifth Annual Course of the Pennsylvania COLLEOE OF DeNTISTBY.
