Life changing. I did the KonMari method, and I feel so much better emotionally, physically, spiritually. I probably got rid of 8 full garbage bags of stuff. To have the space is worth so much more than the actual objects. Clutter is so chaotic for our lives and minds. Not being able to find stuff, just taking up real estate in your vision. The ease you feel with everything tidy, it truly lifts the spirit.

I would say the method is difficult. It is so easy to be like, I'll keep these socks just so that I have something to wear. But if the items don't give you joy, you really need to let go. There is absolutely nothing I got rid of that I regret not having. I honestly think everyone can benefit from the KonMari method. A must have book for anyone and everyone.

Kondo does a good job of explaining her process and why it works, but it’s not really practical for people who don’t have a large chunk of time for a decluttering project. Even so, I could pull some helpful ideas from the process (starting with easier categories, folding your clothes so they can all be seen at once, etc.) even though I have no intention of doing the whole shebang. I tried the folding method and was shocked at how much more I can fit in my drawers, and I don’t have to dig for anything.

Marie Kondo brings some great techniques and strategies in this book, but I felt a lot of it was redundant. I found myself skipping the unnecessary paragraphs of her describing and explaining very obvious concepts, in hopes of getting to the actual point of the chapters.

As a person who cannot seem to keep anything tidy, I was looking forward to reading this book. And surely I wasn't disappointed.

Marie Kondō has a lot of experience with tidying and all various techniques, tips, and tricks. Her awareness made the book more valuable.

Even though some of the ideas in the book may seem weird, I am happy to try them and know for myself. I am sure I will try to implement the tips in this book myself and also pick it up at least once more to remind myself of the tidying process.
