Tale's mammoth tent, 240 feet long and 95 feet wide, had been erected on an elevated situation near the village, commanding a fine view of the sur- rounding country, in which the richly cultivated farms of intervale and high land, the Quaboag river and the Podunc pond, and various interesting locali- ties blend to form one of the richest views in the interior of Massachusetts.
