In 1760, new counties were formed. York coun- ty was made to extend only a short distance east of Saco river, as you now see it on the map, and from the sea coast to the northern boundary of the province. Cumberland county was formed at the same time. Its eastern and western boundaries were the same as you see them now, but on the Oiorth it extended to Canada.
