What reading level is A British Officer in the Balkans the Account of a Journey Through Dalmatia Mon book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

They are caught by means of small circular nets the shape and size of a sailor hat, without the brim, attached to a long piece of cord. A scrap of decomposed liver is the bait, tied down into the middle of the net so that it cannot be dragged away. The net is let down into the water at a likely-looking spot, such as an overhanging bank, and after a few minutes is drawn up by aid of a long stick, forked at the end. For this a certain amount of knack is required. The cord to which the net is atta...ched is loosely placed in the fork of the stick. The stick is quickly run out until the cord becomes taut and holds the net level, which is then sharply raised and brought to land.
If one has been successful the net will contain a number of "•reedy crayfish worrying the bait. These are then seized, due regard being had for their nippers, and transferred to the little bac-s forming part of a crayfish catcher's equipment. They can also be fished for paddling, by turning over the loose stones and seizing them before they can make off.
