" The 24 small miniatures are on the outer margins and at the foot of pages containing the Calendar, and represent the signs of the zodiac and scenes appropriate to the months.
The miniatures are of extremely fine and delicate execution and re- markable for brilliancy of colour and variety of subject. The paintings accompanying the eight divisions of the Hours proper, beginning with HOR^E 61 the Matins and ending with the Compline, are not the usual subjects.
