The following table will show that the cost of protecting himself against this risk is very moderate. These are the years during which his family needs protection against the risk of his premature death. They are the years during which such a disaster would cause the greatest loss, but they are also the years during which his insurance costs least. This computation has been made on the basis of the American Mortality Tables and the legal rate of interest of three and one-half per cent.
