Mr. Bereuter. I will recognize him first since he is a co-sponsor, the gentleman from California, and then I will yield to the gen- tleman from Connecticut.
Mr. Kim. I do not have a deep voice like my colleague here, so I need a microphone.
I am in strong support of this resolution, Mr. Chairman. This ex- cellent resolution, I think, is long overdue. I am not going to go over wh...at the resolution will do, but I think it is about time we take a strong position and let them know that they cannot walk away from this agreement we have made last October or the agree- ment we had.
I do not know what we will get out of this agreement, except we will wait 5 years until they open up so we can inspect whether they actually have nuclear arms. I have serious trouble with that.
Anyway, this resolution will strengthen our commitment to South Korea, as well as our commitment to North Korea, that we are not going to back away from this agreement we have made in good faith.
