(Bought from the Annual Inter- national Exhibition, 1872, 5/. $s. ) The pattala contains fonorous (lips of wood or bamboo, fixteen or eighteen in number, of graduated lengths, the largeft of which is from twelve to fifteen inches long, and two inches broad. They are ftrung on a double cord, and are fufpended over an open founding-box re- fembling a trough, or a boat. The roundiih outfide of the bamboos is uppermost.
