III. 263, 537-] MONCUR (JOHN), printer in Edinburgh, his printing house at the foot of the Bull Close, opposite to the Tron, 1709-12 ; his house and shop at the Head of the Bank-Close, in the Lawn-market, 1726. 1707-26. In 1709 he printed The Scots Postman, and in 1712 The Evening Post. On page viii of the edition of Guthrie's Christian's Great Interest which Moncur published in 1726 is a list of twenty-nine books printed and sold by him.
