The number of ostensible shippers for slaves is forty-two, but it is to be noticed, that the first thirteen employ forty-seven sail of ships, and import in the West Indies twenty-six thousand eight hundred and twenty slaves, being upwards of two-thirds of the whole, the remaining twelve thousand three hundred and fifty, be- ing shared among the other twenty-nine adventurers.
