In a case near the entrance, made to shelter the Old Door before it came to our hands, hangs the coarse home-made Linen Shirt worn by Samuel Allen, when killed by Indians at the Bars in 1746, — a bloody memorial of the times that tried the souls of our fathers and mothers. Lying on Case B is a Gun in a far- gone condition of decay. Generations ago it was found on the field of the Turners Falls Fight of 1676.
