Tall Vase of the K'ang-hsi period (1662-1722), painted with the rich brilHant enamel colours of the famille verte. The decoration consists of panels of varied shape and size, posed upon a green stippled ground brocaded with flowers and butterflies. The panels are filled with landscapes, lions with embroidered balls and other monsters, fish and water plants, and with the typical flowers of the four seasons — the pseony of spring, the lotus of summer, the chrysanthemum of autumn, and the prunus, emblem of winter.
