I AM SURPRISED ABOUT the first person I met after leaving the train was Bud Footit, who greeted me with the lofty indifference that might distin guish a City man who was bothered a great deal by acquaintances from the country, though he became more friendly when he saw that I was utterly lost in the noisy and rushing crowd.
