(80. ) From the mere inspection of this table it will be evident, that, on the same day, and in the same state of the air, the loss of the electricity which takes place in equal small intervals of time, bears the same ratio to the whole intensity of the electric force of the body. Thus, in all the six experiments of the 28th of May, the loss per minute was very nearly the same fraction of the total mean repulsive force, the greatest observed amount of loss being ^Jg-, and the least ^V> part of the whole ; and a like correspondence will be observed be- tween the result of all the experiments made on any one day.
