The North American Review for October, 1864, and October, 1866, has valuable articles on "Ital- ian Literature;" and the same review for July, 1867, has an in- structive paper on the " Origin of the Italian Language." Numerous other articles may be readily found by looking un- der "Italy" in Poole's "Index to Periodical Literature," in the Catalogue of the Brooklyn Mercantile Library Association, and in the Catalogue of the Library of the Boston Athenicura.
