I see you think it remarkable that at the date of your last letter, March 27. You had not yet received an acknowledgment of remittances contained in a letter of March 8, which was not possible. I think, however, from what you say, that one letter of mine to you must have miscarried.
For the future I beg of you to cause a clerk to send me by each letter that comes to me a statement of the remittances made before that date, with dates and amounts.
