entire liquor thus made, either ammonia, car- bonate of ammonia, or carbonate of lime will answer as the precipitant, and the mother- liquor will have the composition of that al- ready described. But, when di-phosphate of lime is required instead of tri- or Colombian phosphate, either alumina, phosphate of alu- mina, oxide of iron, phosphate of iron, or milk of lime, must be substituted, as the pre- cipitant, for economical reasons.
