I\nd when he proclaim- ed aloud, before his exafperated perfecutors, the glo- rious fcene prefented to his view, " they cried out with a loud voice, and flopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord. '* Then, with brutal ferocity and infernal rage, they " call him out of the city, and ftoned him'* to death !
A hmilar mob perfecuted the immaculate Saviour of the world. They milinterpreted all his words and a(n:ions, multiphed their falfe accufations againft him, and treated him with every perfonal infult and indignity.
