The simplest case of flow through a pipe is that where the discharge occurs entirely at the end, there filling the entire sec- tion, as in a tube ; such pipes are said to be in a condition of full flow. Other cases are those where the discharge is drawn from the pipe at several points along its length, as in the water mains for the supply of towns.
