If there be no expressed place of payment, the bill is payable in the place where it was accepted ; but if a different place of payment is speci- fied in the bill, then the liability of the acceptor is governed by the law of the place of payment. ^ And the same rule holds good, where a promise to accept is made and com- municated to the other parties, before the bill is drawn.
